Regional Events
Across this field, project leaders, practitioners, researchers, and partners are looking for opportunities to strengthen connections and explore the big ideas advancing participatory sciences closer to home. Regional events can serve as a catalyst for, or primary activity of, networks of participatory science projects across North America.
Hosting a regional event is an opportunity for visibility and leadership in the field. Excited by the idea of convening an event, but daunted by the prospect of logistics? The AAPS toolkit for regional event planning seeks to make hosting a high-caliber regional event both easy-to-implement and financially viable, allowing volunteer leaders to put more of their focus on building ideas and connections.
The AAPS Regional Event Toolkit includes planning checklists, event templates, support materials for fundraising and outreach, and more. These high-value materials reduce the planning burden and build explicit connections between individual regional events and the broader field. This toolkit is available via three packages offering options for events at different scales and with different support preferences, from DIY to custom services.
