C*Sci 2023 Registration Rates
Registration for the in-person event includes:
- Access to all main program activities T-Th
- Option to add on workshops, field-trips, and special meetings (subject to availability, some may have additional fees, take place M-F)
- Coffee breaks morning and mid-day
- Late afternoon receptions T/W/Th (drinks and snacks)
- Option to purchase T-Th breakfast/lunch dining hall meal pass (est. $60)
- Option to request low-cost dormitory accommodations (pending availability and eligibility)

Registration for an online-only ticket includes the following online engagement activities:
- pre-event live engagement sessions
- online engagement with all registrants and presenters,
- access to streamed symposia (one room each day), including presenter Q&A
- access to recorded symposia (those streamed)
- access to all posters (including from in-person presenters)
- opportunity for virtual poster presentation (if accepted)

Main session day (T, W, or Th): $200 | $275 starting 15 May
Workshops/field trip day (M or F): $100 plus any session costs (register early, sessions may fill)
NON-MEMBERS In-Person
Regular ticket: $500 | $580 starting 15 May

REDUCED RATE OPTIONS
Reduced rates are available to the following groups:
- Students – to qualify, students will be required to upload verification of current enrollment
- K-12 Formal classroom teachers and educators in afterschool programs – educators will be asked to indicate school district and/or afterschool organization to qualify
- Retirees – those who advanced or continue to work in this field in an emeritus/retiree capacity
- Environmental Justice Practitioners and Indigenous Practitioners – please register at this rate if working on a career track in this field or if attendance is covered by a grant (see below for additional options)
- Project Volunteers – for anyone whose sole role in this field is as a project volunteer, please register at this rate if attendance is covered by a grant or if able to accommodate the costs (see below for additional options)
Reduced Rates:
In-person: $240
Online engagement: $60
NOTE: All reduced-ticket registrants must be registered before 15 May 2023. If registered before the earlybird deadline, the 10% earlybird discount can be applied. Registrants unable to provide requested verification will be subject to full ticket costs.
FEE WAIVERS
Fee waivers, where available, can be applied only to registration costs, not any costs related to travel or accommodations. Some of the opportunities listed below may be connected to options for coverage of travel costs. Please read all information carefully to understand what you are eligible for and what you are applying for.
Options:
A limited number of no-commitment fee waivers are available to those who contribute more to this field than they gain from conference attendance.
- Environmental Justice Practitioners and Indigenous Practitioners – you may be eligible if you are not on a career track in this field, and if your registration costs are not being covered by a grant (your own or a partner’s).
- Project Volunteers – you may be eligible if if your sole role in this field is as a volunteer with a project, if you are not working with a project or partner covering your participation on a grant, and if you are not in a financial position to register for the event.
Volunteer time during the event can offset registration costs for a limited number of attendees. Individuals willing to devote some of their event time in direct support of conference activities can learn more here. Priority is given to students and to others (particularly early-career individuals) with limited sources of support to attend.

A limited number of scholarships and stipends are available to support attendance by designated groups. Some may include coverage for travel as well as for registration.

⚖️ Social Justice Ethics – Refers to fair and just relations between the individual and society as measured by the distribution of wealth, opportunities for personal activity, and social privileges. Social justice also encompasses inclusiveness and diversity.

👤 Human Subject Ethics – Refers to rules of conduct in any research involving humans including biomedical research, social studies. Note that this goes beyond human subject ethics regulations as much of what goes on isn’t covered.

🍃 Biodiversity & Environmental Ethics – Refers to the improvement of the dynamics between humans and the myriad of species that combine to create the biosphere, which will ultimately benefit both humans and non-humans alike [UNESCO 2011 white paper on Ethics and Biodiversity]. This is a kind of ethics that is advancing rapidly in light of the current global crisis as many stakeholders know how critical biodiversity is to the human species (e.g., public health, women’s rights, social and environmental justice).
⚠ UNESCO also affirms that respect for biological diversity implies respect for societal and cultural diversity, as both elements are intimately interconnected and fundamental to global well-being and peace. (Source).
