What does full registration include?

Your full registration includes access to FIVE FULL DAYS of programming, including plenary talks by field leaders; top-notch symposia, talks, and posters; and the ability to register for workshops and field trips (some are free, some workshops and field trips have additional fees to cover transportation, space, and materials). Also included is a Wednesday evening welcome reception at the Museum of Natural Sciences, a Thursday poster reception, a dinner and plenary panel on Friday, and Saturday’s public Festival at the Museum. Most importantly, it includes the chance to share your work, questions, and ideas with colleagues from around the world. (see full details on registration perks)

Where do I find my member number?

In the CSA member portal, go to My Account >My Profile, and then click the Membership tab in the inner window. You should see your member number there UNLESS your membership is part of an organization. Organizational members can use your organization’s name in place of a number.

Can’t log in? It’s easy to join or renew here. Note, students and scholarship recipients will receive a membership as part of registration, so there is no need for individuals in these groups to provide a member number at registration.

When is my presentation?

Presenters can expect to hear about the timing of their talk by early in the week of December 10th.

Should I register if I’m only planning to attend a single day?

All speakers and participants in the CitiSci2019 conference must register to attend. A one day registration option is available. Registering makes everything run smoother because you will officially be in our system allowing us to account for you, get you an official nametag and other materials, and cover the costs of managing the event. Registering helps us to help you by supporting the work it takes to make this event run smoothly.

What if I am waiting to hear about a scholarship?

K-12 teachers and University students can expect to hear about scholarships by the end of 2018. For updates about community-based environmental science scholarships, please contact Omega <wera1usa@gmail.com> or Caren <caren@scistarter.org>.

For scholarships that cover registration, recipients will receive a promo code to cover the relevant costs. Eligible scholarship applicants will be extended the earlybird registration rate, in case of non-acceptance, even if decisions are made past the earlybird closure.

Do presenters get a discount?

Most CitSci conference attendees are presenters, so rather than offering discounts for presenters we focus instead overall on keeping costs as low as possible.

Where can I manage my registration details?

Many changes to registration can be made via the Ex Ordo registration portal. Follow these instructions to make changes to your registration.

I’m not sure which extra events I want to participate in yet, do I have to choose during registration?

If you’re not sure which workshops, field trips or other events you’d like to sign up for, the system does allow you to add events to your registration later. Instructions are available here. Please note that some events have limited capacity; register early to be sure of a space.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Registrations cancelled prior to 1 March 2019 are eligible for a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations made after 1 March 2019, however substitutions will be accepted. All requests should be directed to conference@citizenscience.org.

Does CitSci2019 have a Code of Conduct?

CSA is in the process of drafting a code of conduct for all official events. The Code of Conduct and related reporting procedures will be circulated to all attendees in early 2019. Attendance at the CSA event will indicate your willingness to abide by the terms of those documents. With questions, please contact director@citizenscience.org

The person who submitted our abstract is different from the person who will actually be presenting. How do we make sure the correct speaker is listed in the program, and getting informational emails about the conference?

Please email conference@citizenscience.org to coordinate details. Note that we value hearing from many different people at this event. While we can make some exceptions for substitutions due to last minute emergencies, we strongly discourage co-authors presenting multiple talks on behalf of authors who do not attend, as this takes spaces away from people who wanted an opportunity to attend and present.
