Arizona Premiere of WILD HOPE at C*Sci2023 in Tempe

Return to Blog

WILD HOPE is a new series of half-hour films highlighting the intrepid changemakers who are restoring and protecting our planet. Whether tapping oysters to clean New York Harbor, or growing coffee to save Mozambican rainforests, the series reveals how bold interventions and unexpected alliances can spark powerful change—and provides a refreshing dose of hope in an increasingly cynical world.

CSA is pleased to partner with HHMI Tangled Bank Studios to present the Arizona premiere screening of the WILD HOPE episode, The Big Oyster, which features the community-engaged Billion Oyster Project in New York Harbor. During a reception and early evening event at C*Sci2023, conference attendees will have a chance to hear from Executive Producer, Jared Lipworth, about the positive change we can effect for the planet and the opportunity of c*sciences to lead the way. WILD HOPE staff will also be on site throughout the event to share more about the forthcoming series and opportunities to be part of this movement for inspired change.

The Big Oyster

New York Harbor was a haven of incredible underwater biodiversity—until centuries of pollution turned it into a cesspool. Today, an alliance of architects, restaurateurs, scientists, and high school students is working to restore the harbor and protect the city from climate change. At the heart of the effort is a tiny creature with an outsized talent for cleanup: the extraordinary oyster.
