CSA has an immediate opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced editor to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal: Citizen Science: Theory & Practice
 
Two Social Media Editorial Board Members are also sought to support authors in broadening attention to their open access publications.

About the Editor in Chief Opportunity

CSA is seeking a highly motivated scholar with editorial experience to serve as CS:TP’s third Editor-in-Chief, to lead the next phase of the journal’s growth trajectory and to solidify its place and future as the premiere, trusted source for topical publications in this field. 

This is an unique opportunity to advance and influence this rapidly growing and dynamic field through editorial leadership and vision. At this phase in the journal’s development, there is outstanding potential for international and cross-society collaborations; career development and visibility (including opportunities for an Editor-in-Chief to engage and mentor their grad students in the editorial process); grant leadership and funding; and visionary influence on the landscape of publishing in this field.

Candidates with expertise in any aspect of citizen science within the scope of the CS:TP Journal (including social sciences and humanities) are welcome to apply. We seek candidates with an interest in serving for at least three years (the initial contract will be for one year with opportunity to renew upon mutual agreement); a shared position is also possible should two candidates have complementary skill sets.

About the Social Media Editorial Board Member Opportunities

CSA is seeking 1-2 highly motivated and social media savvy early career (grad student onward) scholars familiar with and interested in peer-reviewed literature related to contributory, collaborative, and co-created science practices. These new Editorial Board members will leverage CSA’s social media platforms to increase attention to and readership of CS:TP publications, and publication opportunities. They will work with others on the editorial team, and directly with authors, to review and share social media content about new journal publications. They will coordinate with authors and with CSA staff to stage timely and strategic release of content across CSA’s platforms.

The ideal candidates will be clear communicators who work well as part of a team, and who can provide editorial guidance for authors developing complementary content to drive increased readership and engagement for their articles. Candidates must be interested in the scholarly process and landscape of peer-reviewed publications in this field, and will gain access to mentorship and insights into that scholarly process. Candidates pursuing studies in any aspect of citizen science within the scope of the CS:TP Journal (including social sciences and humanities) are welcome to apply.
